Admissions Process_

At Codeup, there’s no archetype for a data scientist – we encourage applicants from all walks of life. If you’re motivated and passionate about data and problem-solving, let’s talk!

  • Application and Consultation

In our online application, we ask a series of brief questions to get to know you a little better. Following this, a member of our admissions team will speak with you over the phone to walk you through the next steps, give you all the information you need and put your mind at ease by answering any questions you may have.

  • Written Essay

Help us understand your passion! This is your chance to write your story and make your pitch through a 300-500 word short essay answering the prompt: why do you want to be a Data Scientist?

  • Campus visit and Technical challenges

We’ll invite you to visit our campus for a tour of our brand new facilities. Following this, you will complete 3 short technical challenges in Mathematics/Statistics, Python Programming, and Data Analysis. If you are unfamiliar with any of these areas, our admissions team will help you prepare. We want to see your potential, so starting from scratch is ok!

  • Interview

Our placement team will interview you over the phone to determine professionalism and viability for job placement.

  • Enroll and Prepare

If you are admitted to our program, we will give you a congratulatory call! Following this, you'll need to submit a $1,000 refundable enrollment deposit to reserve your seat, and our admissions team will help you prepare for class.
