Primary Function: Deliver curriculum and support students in our immersive Data Science training.
Reports to: Director of Delivery
Location: San Antonio
As an instructor, you facilitate student learning by up-leveling and empowering people with your craft! You will deliver our custom curriculum to classes through lecture, walk-throughs, and exercises, while supporting individual students in 1:1s and office hours. You will also work on our curriculum and take on projects building data related products for Codeup.
Ideal Candidate Characteristics:
- 2+ years industry experience in data science
- Fluency in Python, SQL, Data Visualization (matplotlib, seaborn, Tableau), and Machine Learning (Regression, Classification, Clustering, Time Series Analysis, Anomaly Detection)
- Some experience with Natural Language Processing and Distributed Data (Spark, Hive, Hadoop)
- Passion for teaching, training, and coaching (previous teaching experience not required)
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Life-long learner who continues to grow their skills, with a desire to be a thought leader and subject matter expert locally and beyond
- Ability to lead, inspire, and manage a classroom of adult learners
- Empathy, humility, and positivity

As a Web Development Instructor, you are instrumental in facilitating students’ career transitions. Uplift, up level, and empower people by sharing your craft. Your primary responsibility is to deliver Codeup’s custom curriculum to our classes through lecture, code walk-throughs, and exercises, while supporting individual students in 1:1s and office hours. You will also maintain and improve our curriculum, and hone your technical chops by building custom software and tools for the company.
Ideal Candidate Characteristics:
- Industry experience in full-stack development, including architecting, building and deploying web applications
- Passion for teaching, training, and coaching (previous teaching experience not required)
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Life-long learner who continues to grow their software development skills through self-teaching, peer-to-peer learning, and attending community events and lectures
- Ability to lead, inspire, and manage a classroom of adult learners
- Desire to be a thought leader and software development expert locally and beyond
- Empathy, humility, and positivity.

We teach our students to build full-stack applications with:
- HTML5 + CSS3 web standards
- JavaScript w/ jQuery
- Java with the Spring Boot framework
- MySQL
- Version Control with Git and GitHub, Git and GitHub in a team environment
- IntelliJ IDEA, MacOS, Linux
- The Bootstrap 4 CSS Framework
- Modern Frontend Tooling, specifically npm and webpack
- Test-Driven development
Compensation (Depends on seniority):
- $50k-$100k annual compensation in salary
- 401(k) with covered administrative fees and 4% matching after 1 year

- 5+ years of software development industry experience
- Passion for teaching, training, and coaching (previous teaching experience not required)

Primary Function: Monitor student progress and coordinate resources to ensure students enjoy a positive, enjoyable, and successful Codeup experience.
Location: San Antonio
Reports to: Director of Delivery
The Student Success Coordinator is instrumental to supporting student progress through the program. Uplift, up-level, and empower people by working 1:1 with students, coordinating support across roles and departments, and leveraging available resources. Each day, you get to work with classes and individuals. Your primary responsibility is to support students from day 1 through graduation by monitoring academic progress, collecting and acting upon student feedback, and keeping staff informed of class progress.
About you:
We’re looking for someone who is excited to get involved with classroom learning and impact lives. More specifically, we’re looking for: a passion for coaching and mentoring; excellent interpersonal communication skills; patience, empathy, and positivity; a high-level of detail orientation and follow through; and a high-level of individual proactivity and autonomy.
Responsibilities
- Conduct 1:1s with students (Pre-Welcome Day or first week, mid-program)
- Proactively Monitor academic progress via exercise completion, quizzes, and assessment grades
- Assign resources such as instructor 1:1s, mentors, etc. to support academic success for students
- Complete grade reporting for each grading period
- Manage behavioral and academic probations
- Monitor attendance
- Monitor GitHub activity
- Send and analyze weekly surveys
- Follow up on all student feedback
- Setup and manage classroom equipment and software
- Schedule and manage all student events
- Partner with Career Coaches to manage student coaching and drive positive student outcomes
- Proactively schedule and manage monthly check-ins and provide reports on student progress with all grant/funding partners
- Administrate and maintain any applicable Codeup software and communication tools

Primary Function: Support the operations of our marketing & admissions team to enable us to empower more life change!
Reports to: Sarah Mellor, Director of Marketing & Admissions
You’ll support the operations of our Marketing & Admissions Department. The Marketing & Admissions team at Codeup is responsible for getting Codeup’s brand out there to find new students and new companies to hire our grads! You might work on things like: posting social media, running background checks, verifying and compiling enrollment paperwork, helping to produce content, data organization and analysis, and more. You’ll be included in our team brainstorming sessions and strategic planning so it’s a great way to experience first-hand the fast-paced start-up environment and learn about sales and marketing at a mission-focused company.
